Dr. Rainer Rother

Rainer Rother, born 1956, is artistic director of the Deutsche Kinemathek - Museum für Film und Fernsehen in Berlin as well as head of the retrospective section of the Berlinale. After German studies and studies of history and his doctorate he taught film studies i.a in Hannover. As of 1991 he was curator for exhibitions and head of the Kinemathek des Deutschen Historischen Museum in Berlin. Since 2001 he is member of the selection panel for the competition of the festival Berlinale. He publishes on various topics of film history.
